Things I Love About Grace College #3
Chapel.
This week in chapel was dedicated to the problem of human trafficking. We had three wonderful speakers: Ken Lawson, an Ohio detective specializing in human trafficking cases; David Batstone, founder of the Not For Sale campaign and author of Not For Sale; and former Congresswoman and founder of Shared Hope, Linda Smith, who were especially qualified to expose us to the problem and spur us on to involvement.
It was encouraging and inspiring to hear speakers, instead of promoting their own organization, urge us to understand the problem and use our own imaginations and intellect to come up with original ways to help end modern slavery.
I’ll be posting more about this topic in the future and hope you’ll join me in fighting to end the bondage of 27 million people around the world and in our own country (much closer than you think).
*I highly recommend www.notforsalecampaign.org and www.ijm.org for your consideration.

Theological Discussions
I just had what turned out to be an hour and a half long conversation with my friend from next door (who just happens to be a Biblical Studies major, as well). This conversation ranged from predestination to the nature of sin to God’s glory to why most women don’t like snakes (you had to be in Exploring the Bible today to fully appreciate that last one).
I even gained a quote out of it. ”I have had such delicious thoughts on God…”
Congrats, Dan and Kate!
I’m a little late on posting this but I would like to say congratulations to my brother, Dan Ferrier, and Katelyn Knuth on their recent engagement. I’m looking forward to everything God has in store for you two in the years to come.
Again, congrats (raise imaginary glass of sparkling grape juice…)

Several of my friends (Steve Webster, Amanda Ackermann) are doing lists like this so I decided to do one.

Impromptu brother/sister hall worship/prayer sessions.
Twice now we’ve had spontaneous times of worship and prayer with the girls from Indy 1 East (we’re Indy 2 West). I love the sense of community in this place, it’s really great.

Thoughts from Tozer to go along with the theme of love in chapel this morning.
“The love of God is one of the great realities of the universe, a pillar upon which the hope of the world rests. But it is a personal, intimate thing, too. God does not love populations, He loves people. He loves not masses, but men. He loves us all with a mighty love that has no beginning and can have no end.”
